What's new

On 3 October we released a new version of WP Inspection for iPhone and iPad. It looks much the same, but under the hood it has been rebuilt. The biggest change is that you no longer need to upload your inspections. It happens by itself.

If automatic updates are turned on in the App Store, you probably have the new version already. If not, you can find it here: WP Inspection on the App Store.

What’s new

• No more uploading – everything you create in the app appears on web as soon as your phone is online. There is no «Create report» to tap and no need to keep the app open until it finishes. If you do an inspection without coverage, the project shows up when you are back online
• The same overview as on web – the «Collections» start screen shows your company’s projects: «My projects», «All projects» and «Archived projects», just like on web. That means you can open a project a colleague created, straight from your phone
• More alike on mobile and web – we are working to make the app and web as similar as possible, so you don’t have to learn two ways of doing things. Exterior inspection with roof is not in the app yet, but it is coming before long, together with other features you have only been able to do on a PC until now

Using Android?

Then all of this will look familiar. The Android app has synced automatically all along. Now iPhone and iPad work the same way.

Projects from the old app?

Inspections you made in the previous iOS version that were never uploaded are still safely on your phone. You find them under «On iPhone» → «All projects». To move one of them to web, do this once per project:

1. Open the project under «On iPhone».
2. Tap «Add to…».

It is then added to your company’s projects and becomes available on web. Most people have already uploaded the projects they are working on, so this only applies to what was left behind.

• You need the latest version of WP Inspection from the App Store to get automatic sync
• The new version requires iOS 26 or later
• The help articles on support.wennproperty.com have been updated for the new flow

How many metres of ridge are there on the roof? How many metres of eaves, and how many metres of gable? Those are the numbers you need to price flashings, gutters and bargeboards – and they have taken work to find. Now Wenn Property on the web works them out for you.

How it works

The outdoor module already pulls area, measurements and maps for roofs and façades straight from the address, with no site visit. Now it goes a couple of steps further. Every edge on the roof is given a type, calculated from the roof data. You get a summary with metres per edge type for the whole roof, and can open each roof surface to see all of its measurements. In Norway, you can also bring up every building on the address, straight from the national property register (Matrikkelen).

What’s new

• Automatic classification – the roof recognises its own edges. Ridge, valley, gable, eaves, hip, cornice, pitch break, wall abutment and the top edge of a mono-pitch roof are set automatically
• Metres per edge type – see how many metres you have of each type on the roof in question, gathered in one overview
• You have the final say – if an edge is classified wrongly, change the type yourself in a couple of clicks
• Clear about what’s uncertain – edges the system cannot determine are marked as unclassified, so you can see what to check
• Property register data – as a supplement to the roof measurements, users in Norway can bring up every building on the address, straight from Matrikkelen

3D scanning still requires iPhone or iPad with LiDAR. But in the web app, Android users can generate 3D models from a floor plan drawing — no LiDAR needed.

We’ve improved export functionality across the board. In particular for those using Norwegian Excel on Windows, character encoding and decimal formatting now work correctly from the first open.

What’s new

• Detail sheet in XLSX – Excel exports now include a dedicated detail sheet in addition to the quantities sheet
• Comma decimals in CSV – CSV files now use commas, so numbers open correctly right away in Norwegian Excel
• Norwegian characters fixed on Windows – The encoding issue that broke ÆØÅ in Excel on Windows has been fixed
• Detail CSV in ZIP exports – ZIP downloads now include both the quantities CSV and a detail CSV

We’ve redesigned how you share and download projects. What used to be one button is now two clear actions, and the download flow is gathered in a new modal that gives you a better overview of everything you can export.

What’s new

• Two separate buttons – Share and Download are now split for a faster workflow
• One download modal – PDF reports, floor plans, and quantities are available in one card-based overview
• Simpler sharing – Enter a recipient name and generate a link in one click
• Expiry dates on shared links – Choose when a shared link should stop working

Working with exterior measurements is now much faster. You can select multiple roof and wall surfaces at once, see the combined area instantly, and export everything to Excel or CSV for estimating and proposals.

• Multi-select with Ctrl/Cmd – Hold Ctrl on Windows or Cmd on Mac and click to select multiple roof surfaces and walls at the same time
• Total area per building – Select an entire building and see the total roof and wall area immediately
• Roof geometry export – Download roof surfaces with measurements directly to Excel or CSV from the project
• Improved 3D view – Roof surfaces now use a darker grey for clearer contrast against walls

You can now connect AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT directly to your project data in Wenn Property. Ask the assistant about measurements, get summaries or fetch images — without manually exporting anything first.
